Thursday, the 11th of May, ten volunteers met indoors during our crazy rainstorm to make spring bouquets for a local senior living home. We had a goal of making at least 45 bouquets, but by the end of the night, we had made over 70! These are going to be hand delivered by a ballet group this afternoon.
Every time we get together, we pray a short prayer of blessing over the flowers. Each unique bouquet is lovingly created by a volunteer. Our volunteers range from some as young as 6 to some approaching 90. It is a great opportunity to connect across generations and share the love of flowers and our heart for service.
After a long winter, we are all eager for signs of life and beauty. What better way to encourage the aging members of our community than to bring them a little dose of that spring hope and promise? We are off to a great start this season. I can't wait to see God will do in 2023 as we come together to share our creativity, build connections and bless our community.
